custom designs
Custom design requests are officially open for Seattle, Tacoma, St.Louis, and New Orleans! Feel free to pitch me your idea even if i’m not currently in your city - I make work trips based on demand :) OKAY SO, here’s how to custom process goes:
Submit a custom design request form
Keep watch for a response from me within the week that may have a hard yes, a gentle no thank you, or further clarifying questions to determine whether I’m the right fit for the job :)
Should we decide to move forward with your project, you will be prompted to choose an appointment date, and place a $55 non-refundable deposit that goes towards drawing and correspondence time. This amount will not be counted towards the cost of your custom tattoo session as are the deposits for flash appointments.
the first draft you’ll get from me will be pretty rough, with the main goal being to hash out general content and composition. This will be your chance to make any major notes or adjustments in those areas.
The second draft you’ll see mightcould be the final version, though we’ll still check in for any final notes or tiny tweaks we might want to make. This version will find you within 48 hours of your scheduled appointment time. Any pivots to the design that take more than a half hour to adjust within this window or day of will be charged at my hourly rate as additional time on the tattoo session.
FLASH TATTOOS
In case ya aren’t familiar with the term “flash” - it refers to a tattooer’s collection of ready-made designs, drawn with the intention of being tattooed as is. However, I am willing to make minor adjustments within reason (i.e - color vs. black & gray, omitting/adding text, using only part of a design, etc.) Dont be shy to inquire if you’d like to see something tweaked! I will let you know honestly whether or not I feel it compromises the integrity of the tattoo.
You can find my current menu of flash options here. As you scroll the collection, feel free to grab screenshots of pieces you like - there will be a prompt to attach an image should you go on to book. You don’t have to be fully settled on a design when you show up - I’m happy to help with sizing/placement/design choice day of if that sounds helpful to ya!
PRICING/Scheduling

In regard to cancelling/rescheduling; Any reason is an okay reason to cancel or reschedule a tattoo. Waking up on the day of your scheduled appointment and not feeling up for it is absolutely valid, and a perfectly fine reason to do something different with your day. Worst case scenario - you forfeit $50 and we try again another time. Whatever you do; follow your heart!
I have a minimum charge of $250 per appointment including deposit ($200 day of). This minimum is set to ensure I’m able to cover my commute costs, booth rental, material costs, and the unpaid time I spend drawing and doing admin work to make appointments possible. Please keep in mind tattooers often only keep 50%- 60%of what you pay.
Beyond the $250 minimum charge, I work at $180 an hour. I prefer not to tattoo more than 3 hours at a time, for my sake and for yours. That said, I max out a $540 per appointment. Please let me know in your booking form if you’re working with a specific budget between the $250 minimum and $540 max. I’m not offended!
What we can accomplish in a session depends largely on detail, sizing, placement, and your preferred budget for the session. Some folks get a couple smaller, more simple pieces done in one session. Others choose one design that takes the entire allotted time. Certain larger projects might require multiple sessions. If you’d like a price guesstimate for any specific piece, feel free to drop a note with the design you have in mind, an approximate size in inches, and the placement you’re hoping for, and I’ll do my best to give ya a ballpark!
Tipping is always appreciated if your cup floweth over, however, I’m not at all offended by a hard budget. You’re safe to pay the flat rate if that’s what feels most comfortable for ya. Again, feel free to note any hard budget you’re working with in your booking form. happy to work with ya!
APPOINTMENT PREPARATION
Feel free to bring a friend along for the session! It can be a nice comfort/distraction. But also maybe have them bring a book and a snack in case you’re rendered speechless - ‘cause it could also be a bit boring for them!
Eat a good meal and be sure you’re hydrated before your appointment. Hurts less that way!
Try to wear comfy clothes you don’t mind getting some ink on in case we get messy!
If you can remember, bring a water bottle and choice snack along. Ya won’t regret it! ….The real Cozy Guys bring fuzzy blankets.
